Healing research,
held to a standard.
We collect, organize, validate, and share social and scientific research that empowers people to heal. We don't publish what doesn't hold up — no matter how novel, fashionable, or popular.
We receive and distribute research that has a basis in healing. Paradoxical results that can cause harm, no matter how novel or impactful, will not be distributed.
Collect
We follow literature and stories across clinical, social, ethnographic, and traditional disciplines to surface to teams what's worth a closer look.
Validate
We assess methodology, replication, and cultural context and through our network of practitioners collect field tested results.
Share
We translate validated research into resources people can use; findings without a clear path in healing do not make it past this stage.
Where we look for what works
Healing wisdom doesn't live in one place. We organize our research across three traditions so practitioners and researchers can find what aligns with their work and the people they serve. These two systems differ fundamentally in philosophy, diagnosis, treatment, and goals, though they can complement each other in integrative care.
Eastern traditions
Practices and frameworks rooted in the medical and contemplative traditions of Asia — including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and Buddhist contemplative science. We focus on findings where mechanism and outcome are both well-characterized.
Western traditions
Evidence-based medicine, clinical psychology, and applied behavioral science. We pay particular attention to integrative approaches and to research on patient-reported outcomes that conventional metrics often miss.
Tribal traditions
Indigenous and tribal healing practices across the Americas and beyond, shared in collaboration with the communities they belong to. We follow the lead of tribal partners on what should be public, what should be protected, and how findings are presented.
We're independent because of donors like you.
We don't take pharmaceutical money. We don't sell access. We don't run ads. The integrity of our work depends on people who believe rigorous, accessible healing research is worth funding directly.
Fund research
that helps others.
Every contribution directly funds the collection, validation, and free distribution of healing research. Lone Star Healing is a 501(c)(3) public charity — your donation is fully tax-deductible.
